About Us
Takako Nishizaki, famous in Hong Kong and China through her recordings and performances of Chinese violin music, especially the Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto, founded her Violin Studio in 2005 with the aim of raising the standards of violin playing in Hong Kong.

She studied with Shinichi Suzuki and her father Shinji, the co-founder of the Suzuki Method and combined the best elements of the Suzuki Method and traditional teaching with her own experience as a world-class performer to create her Nishizaki Method.

The Violin Studio is not operated for profit and accepts only students whose parents are fully committed to the violin studies of their children.

Ms. Nishizaki interviews the parents and children herself to gauge their commitment. The Studio accepts girls from the age of 2 ½ years and boys from 3 ½ years.

Initially, all students are taught by her assistants who speak Cantonese, Mandarin, English, Korean, Japanese and Russian. Ms. Nishizaki herself teaches the most promising students and monitors the progress of all other children during group lessons. The Studio regularly organizes public performances to give the students experience and confidence. Many of the Studio's children have won prizes at the annual Hong Kong Schools' music festival, as a rule in competition with children twice or three times their age. At present, the teaching staff of the Studio includes Cynthia Tse, Hyejin Chung, Josh Jia and Victor Leung.
